CBD Isolate

CBD isolate is the purest form of cannabidiol available. To make Isolate, CBD oil is CO2 extracted from Hemp in the same way as it is for our other CBD products. It then goes through further filtration to remove plant material and “winterisation” which removes waxes, chlorophyll, terpenes, trichomes, and flavonoids still present in the CBD oil. The result is a fine white powder that is 99.9% pure CBD.
Isolate CBD powder is very versatile, allowing you to choose just the right way to use CBD. Because CBD Isolate is so pure it is easy to understand how much CBD is being used. Each 1mg of isolate contains 1mg of CBD (less a fraction of a percent lost in filtration).

How to use CBD Isolate

Super-pure and soluble in water or oil there are many options for how to use CBD Isolate.

1. Use CBD Isolate neat
CBD isolate can be used straight away with no further preparation. Just measure out the amount you require and use it as it is. The powder is readily soluble and quickly absorbed.

2. Dissolve CBD Isolate in oil or water based liquids
CBD powder readily dissolves in both oil and water based liquids and semi-solids. It is important, though, not to heat the CBD above 65ºC as this makes changes that affect is potency. If you choose to add it to warm liquids make sure they have cooled a little first, and don’t heat it at high temperatures in other circumstances.

3. Make your own CBD preparations
The only limit for combining CBD Isolate with your favoured preparations is your imagination. Carrier oils such as olive oil, grapeseed oil and MCT (fractionated coconut oil) are each valued for their own benefits, and can be purchased from Purelife. Information on their properties can be found in their product listings. CBD Isolate can also be added to coconut oil or Aloe Vera gel. Why not add CBD Isolate to a sweet almond oil base then add a few drops of essential oil, such as lavender oil to aid relaxation or peppermint for concentration and focus. Please be sure to check any essential oils or carrier oils you use with CBD Isolate are suitable for your intended uses.
A wide range of carrier oils and essential oils are available from Essican Purelife.

CBD Oil vs Isolate

The important difference between CBD Isolate and Full Spectrum CBD products is the pureness of isolate as a CBD-only product. For some users the absolute absence of residual THC is vitally important, but in practice there is no perceptible THC in any of Essican Purelife’s CBD products, as shown in our label test reports.
With Isolate it is easy to determine dosages and it can easily be added to other substances to make customised CBD preparations.
Full spectrum CBD products such as CBD in Virgin Hemp oil, CBD in MCT, CBD vape oil, CBD Capsules, Balm and Gummy bears contain not only CBD but other cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and vitamins that in some circumstances work together to enhance the effect of the CBD. Some full spectrum products have a strong taste. CBD Isolate contains nothing but CBD.
Both CBD Isolate and Full Spectrum products are effective so the choice is yours – whether to try the entourage effect of combined plant extracts working together in Full Spectrum products or enjoy the flexibility offered by CBD Isolate.

CBD Isolate use

CBD Isolate can not be sold as a food supplement in the UK.
For other CBD products UK guidance for non-medically-licenced CBD use is a dose of less than 200mg CBD per day. CBD is not suitable for pregnant women or nursing mothers and should be kept safe from children and pets.

CBD Isolate vs Distillate vs Broad-Spectrum: A Quick Comparison

Feature CBD Isolate CBD Distillate Broad-Spectrum
CBD Purity ≈98-99 % 50–80 % 60–90 %
THC Content 0 % <0.2 % 0 %
Other Cannabinoids CBDv Yes Many Yes (minus THC)
Terpenes None Minimal Varies
Flavour Neutral Mild-Hemp Natural Hemp

If you need the entourage effect without THC, broad-spectrum might suit you.

If flavour neutrality and legal simplicity matter most, CBD isolate is the clear winner.

Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing

Our hemp biomass is cultivated under EU & US compliant licences using sustainable agriculture.

Farmers implement crop rotation, minimal-till practices and biological pest control to nurture soil health and biodiversity.

Every harvest is traced by QR-coded field diaries, ensuring ethical sourcing, and our suppliers residual hemp biomass is converted into animal bedding or bio-char rather than landfill.

Storage & Handling Guidelines

CBD isolate is relatively low-maintenance, yet simple best-practice can extend shelf life:

  • Store in an airtight, opaque container away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep below 25 °C; refrigeration is helpful in warmer climates but avoid moisture ingress.
  • Use a clean, dry scoop; exposure to water can cause clumping.
  • Wear gloves in clean environments to prevent contamination.

Under these conditions, CBD isolate retains potency for at least 24 months from manufacture.

Industry Applications & Innovation

Brands across diverse sectors leverage CBD isolate:

  • Functional Food & Drink – CBD-infused cold-brew coffees, protein shakes and gummies rely on isolate for consistent dosing without hemp flavour.
  • Sports Nutrition – Pre-workout powders and recovery balms integrate THC-free CBD to remain compliant with WADA guidelines.
  • Pet Care – Veterinarians recommend isolate-based tinctures for pets because zero THC minimises risk of adverse effects.
  • Cosmeceutical R&D – Researchers test CBD isolate for antioxidant and sebum-regulating properties in premium skincare formulations.

Looking ahead, nanotechnology, water-soluble powders and synergistic pairings with nootropics are expanding what isolate can do in wellness innovation.

Pure CBG Isolate – A Perfect Companion Cannabinoid

Exploring beyond CBD? Canavape also supplies 99 % Pure CBG Isolate. Cannabigerol (CBG) is considered the ‘stem-cell’ cannabinoid, offering complementary properties and a bright future in research.

Because both isolates are flavourless, you can blend CBD + CBG in precise ratios for next-generation formulations.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does CBD isolate have an expiry date?

Our isolate is marked with a 24-month shelf life.

When stored cool, dry and dark, it often remains within spec much longer.

How do I dose CBD isolate accurately?

Use a 0.01 g (10 mg) precision scale. Weigh the desired amount, then dissolve or measure into your formulation.

Digital micro-scales are inexpensive and ensure consistency.

Will CBD isolate crystallise in oil?

Properly dissolved CBD isolate stays in solution at room temperature.

Is CBD isolate suitable for vegans?

Yes. Our isolate is only ever plant-derived, animal-cruelty-free and contains no animal products or by-products.

Can I combine CBD isolate with essential oils?

Absolutely. Because isolate is flavourless, it blends well with terpene-rich essential oils – popular in aromatherapy roll-ons and massage blends.

Just ensure safe dilution ratios.

How does CBD isolate compare in cost to full-spectrum extracts?

Per-milligram CBD, isolate is often more economical because of its near-100 % potency.

You pay strictly for CBD content, not supporting plant matter.

Does CBD isolate alter the taste of beverages?

No. Unlike hemp distillate, isolate has no bitter or earthy notes.

In lightly flavoured drinks, it is virtually undetectable. Please bear in mind that CBD is not soluble in water – and you will not be able to create effective CBD drinks!

Is CBD isolate safe for children?

CBD is not recommended for minors without professional medical guidance.

Always consult a healthcare provider before administering any cannabinoid to children.

Can I travel internationally with CBD isolate?

Laws differ by country. While our isolate is THC-free, some jurisdictions restrict all cannabinoids. Check destination regulations before travelling.

What’s the difference between CBD isolate powder and crystals?

Formally, both terms describe the same product.

Crystals refers to the micro-crystalline structure; powder simply denotes the ground or milled format for easier handling.

Why is CBD isolate sometimes slightly off-white?

Minor colour variations can occur from trace cannabinoid-v (CBDV) content or harmless plant pigments. We guarantee ≥98 % CBD in every batch regardless of shade.

Our current batch of CBD isolate tested at over 98% CBD and 1.7% CBDv.

Will CBD isolate affect my medication?

CBD can interact with certain drugs (e.g., some anti-seizure or blood-thinner medications).

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you take prescription medication.
